[00:00:10] This is Chaplain Victor or your chip.
[00:00:15] The Chaplain in your pocket.
[00:00:18] Welcome to another encouraging life giving episode of the Chaplain in your pocket.
[00:00:24] Today we will talk about the Bible Life recovery step number two.
[00:00:32] Let us pray.
[00:00:34] Oh Father God, thank you so much for this opportunity that we have to get together once again.
[00:00:39] I pray you please, please, please bless my listener today.
[00:00:46] Bless them in everything.
[00:00:49] Protect them. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
[00:00:55] Well, here we are at Bible Life recovery step number two.
[00:01:00] And it says, I came to believe that a power greater than myself could restore me to sanity.
[00:01:14] Once I admitted that I was powerless over the effects of my separation from God, AKA the Boss.
[00:01:24] Then I move forward to the verb believe.
[00:01:30] What does believe mean anyway?
[00:01:32] Well, according to Dictionary.com believe is a verb used without object. And it means to have confidence in the truth, the existence of or reliability of something.
[00:01:48] To have confidence or faith in the truth of a positive assertion or story.
[00:01:58] To have confidence in the assertions of a person.
[00:02:06] In other words, faith or trust.
[00:02:11] Necessary.
[00:02:14] What did I come to believe in anyway?
[00:02:19] Well, that a power greater than myself could restore me.
[00:02:25] So here's a question.
[00:02:27] Do you want to be restored?
[00:02:32] When we rise to the level of believing, that's when the locks of our addiction cell begin to loosen.
[00:02:48] Here's what David says the Boss will do.
[00:02:53] He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147. 3.
[00:02:59] I suspect you're pretty brokenhearted about something, right?
[00:03:07] Broken relationships, broken dreams, past traumas and losses. And the list goes on and on, right?
[00:03:20] The Boss will not only restore you to sanity, but healing your broken heart.
[00:03:33] For a Christian, the power greater than myself is God.
[00:03:40] Or as I affectionately call him, the Boss.
[00:03:46] There are only two higher powers for human beings, God or the devil.
[00:03:52] Or as I call him, the other one.
[00:03:58] Let's not kid ourselves. We either worship one or the other. We either serve one or the other.
[00:04:07] What's interesting is that the Boss died so you could live and the other one wants you dead. He hates your guts.
[00:04:24] Now here's a promise from the Boss.
[00:04:28] And I will give you a new heart and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.
[00:04:45] That's found in Ezekiel 36, verse 26, the new living translation.
[00:04:52] Now here are some reflection questions.
[00:04:57] Are you ready to choose to believe that God is willing and able to restore you?
[00:05:06] Number two, who is your higher power?
[00:05:15] And number three, does complete restoration of life sound good to you?
[00:05:25] And if it does, what are you willing to do to obtain it?
[00:05:36] Thank you so much for joining me on the Beacon project and listening to the chaplain in your pocket. God bless you and remember you are P V R precious, valuable and redeemed. Let us pray.
